The latest episode of a Japanese variety TV show, “It’s already the Afternoon,” broadcast on Jan. 28 caused heated discussions among Taiwanese netizens.

The reason was a section in the program featuring a report from Mart Magazine, one of Japan’s pop magazines, on the top five household electric appliances that might be popular in Japan this year.

The renowned Taiwanese TATUNG Rice Cooker was ranked number two.

The TV show praised the multifunctionality of the appliance that allows you to steam and cook a wide range of foods, receiving high recognition from the magazine.

TATUNG Rice Cooker has been a popular product in Taiwan since the 1960s. The company has already sold more than 15 million sets around the island. It is a must-have appliance for many households.
